Dr. Surgan entered clinical practice in 2007 and is board-certified in Endocrinology and Metabolism. He received his undergraduate degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned his medical degree from The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – New Jersey Medical School, with sub-specialty training in Endocrinology at New York University. He regularly performs thyroid ultrasound and ultrasound-guided FNA thyroid biopsy in the office. Dr. Surgan is one of the few Endocrinologists in the state of New Jersey to achieve Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound (ECNU) and is an active member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE).

Inna Gimelbrand is a Registered Dietitian who completed her Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University and then went on to complete her Master’s degree in Nutrition and dietetic internship at Saint Elizabeth University. She has over 6 years of experience working as a clinical dietitian in the long term care setting and working one-on-one with clients to achieve various health goals including lowering cholesterol, losing weight, improving their blood sugar control and creating healthy behaviors for longevity. Inna takes an individualized approach to counseling her clients by looking at factors that can affect nutrition. She helps her clients learn to create lifelong sustainable changes where they can enjoy their food while optimizing their health.

Dr. Vaynkof is a board certified endocrinologist who received her undergraduate degree from New York University and earned her medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. She completed her residency and fellowship training in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Medical Center where she served as chief fellow. Dr. Vaynkof is a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE). Her clinical areas of expertise are diagnosis and management of thyroid disorders, performing thyroid ultrasounds in office, evaluation and care of Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes including management of insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors, as well as of other endocrine problems such as osteoporosis, parathyroid disease, PCOS, adrenal and pituitary diseases. Dr. Vaynkof speaks English and Russian.

Dr. Priven is a board certified endocrinologist. He completed his endocrinology fellowship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, with additional training at the Mayo Clinic. He is the only endocrinologist in Middlesex/Monmouth counties designated as a “Thyroid specialist“ by American Thyroid Association (www.thyroid.org). He performs and interprets thyroid ultrasonography and ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration of thyroid nodules as well as Bone Density (DEXA) scans for osteoporosis evaluation. Dr. Priven also specializes in diabetes evaluation and management. He is a member of The American Thyroid Association and Endocrine Society. Dr. Priven always makes sure that patients are well educated about their diagnosis and treatment plan, and always puts patients at ease.

Dr. Raginsky has been servicing the podiatric needs of NJ residents since 1999. A graduate of Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, Chicago IL. After graduation, he completed his residency in Podiatric Medicine Podiatric at Barry University and Cedars Medical Center, both in Miami, FL. In addition to servicing patients in East Brunswick, he is presently an attending physician at St. Mary’s hospital, Passaic, NJ. Dr. Raginsky is also board Certified in Podiatric medicine by the American Board of Lower Extremity Surgery (ABLES).

Marina Sherman got her Master of Science and Family Nurse Practitioner degree at Stony Brook University. She has 15 years experience in cardiac care and diabetes management, including position at Lenox Hill Hospital cardiac care unit. She also has 5 years experience in treating thyroid problems and osteoporosis. She is a great asset to the practice, treating patients with the above conditions, including interpretation of the test findings and discussing treatment options with the patients. She also provides comprehensive diabetic patient education and teaching as well as evaluation and medication management via phone if necessary. Marina has a great rapport with patients and her vast knowledge, enthusiastic personality, and the trust that she builds with her patients contribute greatly to the improvement in patient condition.

Kanan is a Registered Dietitian with more than twenty years of experience education patients and their families on the importance of diet and nutrition in overall health. She is an important member of our diabetes management team. Kanan teaches patients carbohydrate counting, proper reading of food labels, and improving dietary adherence through one-on-one consultations, serving as a great encouragement for patients to continue with their plan of care. She also teaches patients how to incorporate ethnic foods into their diet, and how to plan for special events and dining out.
